First time buying heavy equipment on AuctionsOverTrader - was skeptical but here's how it went

Looking at a CAT 299D3 on AuctionsOverTrader. Bank repo with 1,800 hours. Price seems too good but I don't know anything about this site. Has anyone here actually bought from them? Don't want to get scammed.

Bought a dozer from them last summer. Legit operation. They're a broker that handles bank repos and lease returns. What's the current bid?

Sitting at $58k right now, 3 days left. Buy now is $71k.

That's a fair price for that machine if the hours are accurate. I'd call them and ask for more photos or videos. They were pretty responsive when I had questions about a backhoe listing last month.

We've purchased three units through AuctionsOverTrader for our rental fleet. All bank repos. Two excavators and a telehandler. No issues. The no buyer fee thing is real - saved us about $9k on the telehandler alone compared to what Ritchie would have charged.

Wire transfer was the only part that made me nervous the first time but title and bill of sale came through clean.

We're in Ohio. First one took about 12 days, other two were faster. They arrange it all, you don't have to find your own transport.

Update - called them this morning. Guy named Kevin sent over a video and six additional photos within an hour. Machine came off lease from a landscaping company in Arizona, not a repo actually. They do both apparently.

Probably going to pull the trigger on the buy now. Thanks for the input everyone.

Let us know how it goes. I've been watching their site for a few months but haven't committed yet. Good luck with it.

Follow up for anyone curious. Machine showed up today. Took about 13 days from payment to delivery.

Driver called the night before with a window, showed up right on time this morning. Fired right up, all functions work. Undercarriage looks good, maybe 60% left on the tracks. A few scratches on the cab but nothing major. Honestly better shape than I expected.

What did you end up paying total?

Went with buy now at $71k. Shipping was included so $71k out the door. Same machine at my local dealer was listed at $94k last week so I'm not complaining. They also have a 6 month guarantee on major mechanicals which helped me pull the trigger.
